What an exciting morning in Kununurra! The day that many have looked forward for the past year has finally come. Hundreds of cars were parked at the entrance to Ski Beach on Lake Kununurra for The Big Float, an attempt to beat the Guinness World Record for the longest line of inflatables! The longest line of inflatables was previously formed in Milan, Italy in 2018 at just over 215m. The attempt took place in a 50m pool inside the club David Lloyd Malaspina in Milan San Felice.
Kununurra’s line was over 500m long, so it looks like we’ve smashed the record. However, we need to wait 6 weeks for the official announcement from the Guinness World Records.
There were plenty of laughs, lots of swimming and some great tunes by Patu Edwards and Archie. There was a gymnastics display, a slip and slide for the kids and a mini swimming race from the Lake Argyle Swim Inc.
